St. Patricks Day Tablescape

DSC01494

Hi Dolls!

I received such a great response on my last couple of tablescapes from Valentines Day and my farmhouse design a couple weeks ago, that I decided to share my latest one for St. Patricks Day! (Be sure to scroll to the bottom, to see the video of exactly how I made each crafty piece for my table) If you haven’t figured out by now, I love a good theme and I think that is why I am obsessed with all the different Holidays throughout the year! It gives me an excuse to create some sort of a theme and of course do what I love most….DESIGN and CREATE! Problem is sometimes St. Patricks day decor can be a little cheesy, so I did the best I could with the options available in stores. I also used flowers from my own garden and created some fun things with stuff I already had right inside my home.

My table from Z-Gallerie is the perfect neutral palette to change up the decor for any holiday (and quite frankly why I ended up buying it)  This is how a designer mind thinks, not about functionally first but about how I can decorate it, thankfully it turned out to be very functional as well.  My gorgeous Hurricane Candle holders are Ralph Lauren and you can find them here.DSC01495

My table inspiration came from this little hat decor I found at Michaels and it was 50% off!  I lined it with celaphane (so water didn’t leak through)  and then put a oasis ball in the middle in order to hold the flowers properly.  I then went out into my garden and cut the calla lily’s (love having those flowers in my garden) and strategically placed them in the oasis.  I then crunched up some brown paper and stuck it on top of the oasis ball (so it would be an even surface) to lay the green moss I found from Michaels on top of it (so it looked complete and full) Then I found some cute chocolate gold coins from Ralphs and placed it all around the hat and falling out over the top (like an overflowing pot of Gold, but its just a hat instead)  I had the sparkly clovers from a few years back and layed them around the hat to add some extra green and theme to the look.  Here’s another view from the top. DSC01485

I also cut some extra calla lily’s for the tall vase next to this hat just to change up the height of the different elements on my table.  Visually I think it is more stimulating like that, and then in the mason jar and the Coco Chanel Vase I added some green hydrangeas and them added some green food coloring to the vases to add some festive cheer to the table. It’s a fun way to change up the look of your flowers and also add to the theme. DSC01487

One of my favorite parts of this project was these little clay pots that I turned into these adorable little pots of gold. I got the inspiration from Pinterest. There is soo many great ideas on there. Here is what I did

  1. I spray painted the clay pots black
  2. Then I drew a 3 leave clover on it with a black sharpie
  3. Then I fill in the clover with elmers glue and a small paint brush, as well of around the top of the pot
  4. Then I sprinkled Martha Stuwart glitter all on the glue.
  5. Any left over I wiped up with a q-tip or a little larger brush and dusty away the glitter
  6. Then once dried I put gold rolo’s so the look like the are overflowing (like a pot of gold) Here is how the turned out! Check out the pics below

Happy Monday Dolls!

I just loved this fun outfit I put together this weekend…it was super comfy but also hip and fun. It’s not that often that I am super casual because as you know I love a good fun flirty dress and heels, but every now and again I will throw on a good pair of jeans and a baseball cap.

I found this gorgeous embroidered jacket at Nordstrom and you can shop it right here yourself.  I loved the color and the details of this coat and I wore it with jeans this weekend but it will also look so cute over a little simple dress.

My tank top is from Wolford and this nude color literally goes with everything. The material is super soft and this is my go to tank for also everything in my closet. It can resonate pink sometimes which is great and nude when you need it to match with your nudes. Its very versatile and we all need a piece like that in our closets. You can shop this top right here

I love a good ball cap when I haven’t washed my hair in a minute and this one was the perfect color to tie in my look.  I love the soft suede like material that makes it more plush and dressier then just a regular baseball cap. Again this color goes with everything in your closet...you can find this hat right here

I thru on a light pair of jeans similar to these ones from Nordstrom  a pair of fun and funky heels from Steve Madden and my favorite little purse from BCBG

Sharing my Master Bedroom Remodel

dsc00926

Hi Dolls,

I am sooo excited to finally share pics from my revamped Master Bedroom.  I really wanted our room to feel light and airy, pretty (but not too feminine), and I wanted it to be a place where we could relax, rewind, and rejuvenate after a long days work.

To me it was important that our master bedroom felt like a sanctuary. A place that we wanted to curl up and rest our minds and body from life’s daily grind.

I am so happy with how our space turned out…check out all the pics below, and find out where I found the pieces to complete our space.dsc00796

The very first thing I found that I feel in love with was these very plush velvet accent chairs from Lamps Plus! (my particular chair in the pic is sold out till March 8th-I just found out)

Yes I just said Lamps Plus! Honestly I had no idea they even had furniture as part of their line.  I went on lamps plus looking for a chandelier (which I will show you the one I got for over my bathtub in another blog) and found these beauties. They became the inspiration behind the entire look in my bedroom.  The gorgeous light grey /silver color of the chairs, was the perfect color palette to help make our room feel light and airy. Of course I also loved the little bit of  rhinestone bling on the back of the chair to help ad a hint of glamour to my style (which we all know I love glam)

Check out all the gorgeous chairs right here from Lamps Plus .   The silver nailheads, the slight bling on the back of the chair and the acrylic legs make this chair fit perfectly into the decor in our bedroom. This side table and little kidney pillows I found at TJ Maxx home goods store of course (I love that store and have no shame in my game)

The rug I got from TJ Maxx as well for only $199 (what a deal) and it helps complete this little sitting area in front of my bed. I have my coffee every morning here while I do my daily devotional with http://www.Pastorrick.com from http://www.saddlebackchurch.com  it is a perfect cozy spot to meditate and focus on my thoughts before I start my work day.

At night I love to sit in this spot with my three boys and cuddle and hug on them.

Did I mention how comfortable these chairs are!! I just love these beauties.

I found my headboard at a local consignment shop which personally is some of the best stores to find unique one of a kind pieces, and of course I was thrilled that it matched our chairs perfectly. Here are something similar  headboard looks from One Kings Lane or check out these even more affordable headboards from Wayfair dsc00716

Here is a list of all the other items in this pic:

-The mirrored nightstands are from Z-Gallerie but check out all these gorgeous more afforable ones from Wayfair.  My candle holders and Lamps are from Barclay Butera a high end design store in Newport Beach where I live. The candle holders are from Ralph Lauren and were way to much money per piece (about $600 dollars, but I loved them and fell in love) however you can find similar ones on-line just like this one.

-I found my gorgeous plush all white Nicole Miller bedspread and accent pillows at TJ Maxx as well.

-My Giant mirror I found at our local swap meet, but it was black before, so we painted it a silver leaf color to match the headboard and the chairs.  Here is a similar one from Wayfair.com

-The tall silver glass hurricane candle holders are from Ralph Lauren and you can find here.

-The flowers on my nightstands are fresh flowers put in some simple silver coated vases, and the little mirrored drawers on top of the nightstands I found at TJ Maxx as well.

-The curtains are from Bed Bath and Beyond and they have such a great selection here.

-Chanel tray in the background is from http://www.sheshedezigns.tictail.com

dsc00752

We even found a matching dog bed to match these great accent chairs from Lamps Plus, )and Vito says he approves of the color scheme…. lol)

So I hope you enjoyed a little tour of my revamped Master Bedroom and hopefully it gives you some inspiration for your own home. Be sure to click all the hightlighted links in my blog to shop some of the these great items.

My Valentines Day Tablescape

dsc00347

Hi Dolls!   As many of you already know one of my favorite things in the world to do is decorate! If I could be a full time interior decorator I would, but between running my fashion and beauty lines right now it is just something I don’t have time for …so doing these fun little projects in my spare time for our own home will have to do for now. This tablescape for Valentines Day has been one of my favorite ones yet.

img_5215

We renovated our home just recently and with that came all new furniture (yeppie)  My gorgeous table is from http://www.zgallerie.com …. its called the archer collection and we choose the bench, two side chairs and the banquette bench. I  love how this unique combination of seating just feels so fresh and new aside from your typical all chairs around the table.  What I also love about this table is that is it a neutral color so you can change the color palette for any holiday and it will work.

Here is how I went about decided how to create my tablescape. I pulled a few items I had laying around my house, for instance I had reminants of the black and white ribbon from Christmas (I wrapped gifts with it) and the blinged out face masks from Halloween. These items helped set my mood board for what I wanted to do for the look. I realized I wanted my table to be a little sexy, as well as fun, flirty and full of color.  Here was some of the pieces I pulled together to create my vision. img_5219

These fun little confetti hearts I just found at the grocery store in the Valentines section, but you could find something like this at Michaels craft store as well.  I had bought a boutique of gorgeous red flowers and some baby’s breath  and this is how my color palette came together. I decided to use the flowers not only for the middle of the table but also as decorations for each place setting, and then tied the black and white ribbon around each black napkin to add layers and texture to my tablescape.  I stuck the baby’s breath in the ribbon and added one rose to each napkin and it looked perfect.

dsc00359

I then addded a blinded out face mask to each setting as the party favor for my guests, which created fun conversation as well as a great parting gift.

dsc00393

The black and white ribbon and the sparkly gold branch behind the plate I got from  http://www.shinodadesigncenter.net over the holidays. Shinoda is one of my favorite go to design centers for all things fabulous. Seriously it is a designers dream and its like going into the biggest candy store in the world for anyone who loves to decorate. It has everything you could ever imagine available there. You do have to have a seller’s permit (thank goodness for my business Gretchen Christine) to purchase there, but it is well worth it because of the selection and wholesale price point.

The chargers I got from  Pier 1  and I have them in tons of different colors, silver, black, red, gold etc. so that I can use them for every time I change up my tablescape. I also found my  beautiful red plates a Pier 1 about a year ago but here are similar ones that would work great for your table.

My intricate wine glasses I actually found at TJ Maxx Home Goods (have I mentioned that is one of my favorite stores on the planet for home goods ) you can find so much without breaking the bank. The glasses are a mixture of both gold and silver, which I love for decorating because they go with almost everything I set my table with. I love it when I find great items at half the price of a department or brand name store. My motto has always been you don’t need to spend a fortune to make things look nice, and quite honestly it’s just smart to purchase things at half of the price if they look just as good. And besides that leaves more money in the bank to go more shoe shopping…lol. dsc00413

The black and white customized  G and S pillows were the perfect touch to my table and helped pull it all together.  As mentioned above part of my inspiration was the black and white ribbon I had left over from Christmas but by itself it just seemed a little random on my table, so when I pulled these black and white pillows into the mix it made the whole look come together. I got these gorgeous embroidered pillows from http://www.bombardierdesigns.com.au/ and I have just fallen in love with all of their products. Mention my name “Gretchen” when you email them to place an order and they will give you a discount! 🙌🏻 I also go this gorgeous candle below that was in the middle of the table from them as well. So shop your hearts out.
