St. Patricks Day Tablescape

DSC01494

Hi Dolls!

I received such a great response on my last couple of tablescapes from Valentines Day and my farmhouse design a couple weeks ago, that I decided to share my latest one for St. Patricks Day! (Be sure to scroll to the bottom, to see the video of exactly how I made each crafty piece for my table) If you haven’t figured out by now, I love a good theme and I think that is why I am obsessed with all the different Holidays throughout the year! It gives me an excuse to create some sort of a theme and of course do what I love most….DESIGN and CREATE! Problem is sometimes St. Patricks day decor can be a little cheesy, so I did the best I could with the options available in stores. I also used flowers from my own garden and created some fun things with stuff I already had right inside my home.

My table from Z-Gallerie is the perfect neutral palette to change up the decor for any holiday (and quite frankly why I ended up buying it)  This is how a designer mind thinks, not about functionally first but about how I can decorate it, thankfully it turned out to be very functional as well.  My gorgeous Hurricane Candle holders are Ralph Lauren and you can find them here.DSC01495

My table inspiration came from this little hat decor I found at Michaels and it was 50% off!  I lined it with celaphane (so water didn’t leak through)  and then put a oasis ball in the middle in order to hold the flowers properly.  I then went out into my garden and cut the calla lily’s (love having those flowers in my garden) and strategically placed them in the oasis.  I then crunched up some brown paper and stuck it on top of the oasis ball (so it would be an even surface) to lay the green moss I found from Michaels on top of it (so it looked complete and full) Then I found some cute chocolate gold coins from Ralphs and placed it all around the hat and falling out over the top (like an overflowing pot of Gold, but its just a hat instead)  I had the sparkly clovers from a few years back and layed them around the hat to add some extra green and theme to the look.  Here’s another view from the top. DSC01485

I also cut some extra calla lily’s for the tall vase next to this hat just to change up the height of the different elements on my table.  Visually I think it is more stimulating like that, and then in the mason jar and the Coco Chanel Vase I added some green hydrangeas and them added some green food coloring to the vases to add some festive cheer to the table. It’s a fun way to change up the look of your flowers and also add to the theme. DSC01487

One of my favorite parts of this project was these little clay pots that I turned into these adorable little pots of gold. I got the inspiration from Pinterest. There is soo many great ideas on there. Here is what I did

  1. I spray painted the clay pots black
  2. Then I drew a 3 leave clover on it with a black sharpie
  3. Then I fill in the clover with elmers glue and a small paint brush, as well of around the top of the pot
  4. Then I sprinkled Martha Stuwart glitter all on the glue.
  5. Any left over I wiped up with a q-tip or a little larger brush and dusty away the glitter
  6. Then once dried I put gold rolo’s so the look like the are overflowing (like a pot of gold) Here is how the turned out! Check out the pics below

Pretty in Pink and Coppers Tones

Hi Dolls! As many of you know, I seriously love makeup. I mean I love it so much I went and started my own line. There is a new trend happening that I’ve seen just about everywhere. From the carpet to the runway to the streets, this “pink eye” makeup is something you are going to want to try. It’s no longer reserved for super girly girls or halloween princess costumes, pink eye makeup has officially entered badass territory. Depending on the shade you choose you are able to transform your look from soft and romantic to fierce and diva esque.

Lily Collins pre Golden Globes and carpet ready. Love love love the pink.

Pink has the ability to soften and freshen the face. Eyeshadow in light blush hues has been making waves in the beauty community,  and in some instances, classic pink shadow has been revamped with glitter and carefully blended in with copper shades for a more daring look. I suggest Charlotte Tilbury’s Luxury Palette in “Vintage Vamp” (it even has a tutorial!). Or if you are going for more of a dewy look with a glossy finish, my favorite has to be Tom Ford’s Cream Color for eyes in “pink haze.”

This trend has even hit the runways. Models backstage at Chanel.

Meanwhile, other beauty gurus are sporting rose-colored eyelids.

If you are going for more of a natural face, some dustier pinks almost act like a highlighters like Lancôme Color Design Sensational Effects Eyeshadow. Basically every shade of dusty pink you could want is part of that collection. Plus, the girlie shade is more versatile than you might think. Pink eye shadow can be an chic monochromatic look. One of my favorites is the Nars Duo Eyeshadow in “bouhtan.”

I just love how @beautybyaleksje did this makeup. How gorgeous?!

Check out the pink and coppery brown shades in my Gretchen Christine “Golden Girl” Palette that would be a great way to recreate this look. I cannot wait to try this look.

50 Shades of Pink and Red

Thanks to everyone who posted such sweet comments on my social media pages about my look for our Girls Valentines Day at Dior in Beverly Hills.  My Dress is by an Australian Company called C/MEO Collective and unfortunately is sold out from what I can see, however  check out the other red options from this company right here…. or  click here for a version of my dress. Also here are some other great red options as well from Neiman Marcus

My shoes are by the one and only Alexander McQueen but I got them a few years back.  I love them because they are a classic shoe that I pull out every once in a while to really make an outfit pop.  The skull heads on the front of them is not typically something I would wear, but they are so much fun and so different then what I usually do, so its fun every once it a while to change it up. I kept my earrings simple and just did some gold drop earrings by  Chanel  to help pull the gold embellishments in from my shoes.

Thank you to Dior of Beverly Hills for having into our beautiful boutique up in Beverly Hills and making our day so special. unnamed-6

Also to Sunset Plaza Florist for the gorgeous flowers

My Hair was done by the one and only Victor Paul from the Victor Paul Salon and because I wanted my hair back due to the big side flare on my dress we decided to go with this super cool poofy braid look. I just love this unique fun look by VP.  Give him a call for all your hair needs and styles http://www.victorpaulsalon.co

And of course to my beautiful girlfriend Jackie (pictured) and Jen for putting together such a fabulous day for us ladies…it was so special and just perfect. Jackie got her dress from Neiman Marcus so check out all the great looks you can find there for Valentines Day as well.
