My Valentines Day Tablescape

Hi Dolls!   As many of you already know one of my favorite things in the world to do is decorate! If I could be a full time interior decorator I would, but between running my fashion and beauty lines right now it is just something I don’t have time for …so doing these fun little projects in my spare time for our own home will have to do for now. This tablescape for Valentines Day has been one of my favorite ones yet.

We renovated our home just recently and with that came all new furniture (yeppie)  My gorgeous table is from http://www.zgallerie.com …. its called the archer collection and we choose the bench, two side chairs and the banquette bench. I  love how this unique combination of seating just feels so fresh and new aside from your typical all chairs around the table.  What I also love about this table is that is it a neutral color so you can change the color palette for any holiday and it will work.

Here is how I went about decided how to create my tablescape. I pulled a few items I had laying around my house, for instance I had reminants of the black and white ribbon from Christmas (I wrapped gifts with it) and the blinged out face masks from Halloween. These items helped set my mood board for what I wanted to do for the look. I realized I wanted my table to be a little sexy, as well as fun, flirty and full of color.  Here was some of the pieces I pulled together to create my vision. img_5219

These fun little confetti hearts I just found at the grocery store in the Valentines section, but you could find something like this at Michaels craft store as well.  I had bought a boutique of gorgeous red flowers and some baby’s breath  and this is how my color palette came together. I decided to use the flowers not only for the middle of the table but also as decorations for each place setting, and then tied the black and white ribbon around each black napkin to add layers and texture to my tablescape.  I stuck the baby’s breath in the ribbon and added one rose to each napkin and it looked perfect.

I then addded a blinded out face mask to each setting as the party favor for my guests, which created fun conversation as well as a great parting gift.

The black and white ribbon and the sparkly gold branch behind the plate I got from  http://www.shinodadesigncenter.net over the holidays. Shinoda is one of my favorite go to design centers for all things fabulous. Seriously it is a designers dream and its like going into the biggest candy store in the world for anyone who loves to decorate. It has everything you could ever imagine available there. You do have to have a seller’s permit (thank goodness for my business Gretchen Christine) to purchase there, but it is well worth it because of the selection and wholesale price point.

The chargers I got from  Pier 1  and I have them in tons of different colors, silver, black, red, gold etc. so that I can use them for every time I change up my tablescape. I also found my  beautiful red plates a Pier 1 about a year ago but here are similar ones that would work great for your table.

My intricate wine glasses I actually found at TJ Maxx Home Goods (have I mentioned that is one of my favorite stores on the planet for home goods ) you can find so much without breaking the bank. The glasses are a mixture of both gold and silver, which I love for decorating because they go with almost everything I set my table with. I love it when I find great items at half the price of a department or brand name store. My motto has always been you don’t need to spend a fortune to make things look nice, and quite honestly it’s just smart to purchase things at half of the price if they look just as good. And besides that leaves more money in the bank to go more shoe shopping…lol. dsc00413

The black and white customized  G and S pillows were the perfect touch to my table and helped pull it all together.  As mentioned above part of my inspiration was the black and white ribbon I had left over from Christmas but by itself it just seemed a little random on my table, so when I pulled these black and white pillows into the mix it made the whole look come together. I got these gorgeous embroidered pillows from http://www.bombardierdesigns.com.au/ and I have just fallen in love with all of their products. Mention my name “Gretchen” when you email them to place an order and they will give you a discount! 🙌🏻 I also go this gorgeous candle below that was in the middle of the table from them as well. So shop your hearts out.
