Nail Trends for 2017

Hi Dolls!

So I’ve been following 2017 beauty trends closely since the beginning of the year and recently nails and nail art have been making an appearance in my research. The style that I have been seeing a lot of is Chrome Nail Polish.  It is said to be the ‘hottest nail trend of 2017.’

Now, metallic nail polishes have always been popular, but Chrome Nails takes that mirrored, high-shine finish to the next level.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a look you can recreate with traditional nail polish. For that mirrored look you will need to go to a nail bar where they use a metallic powder to buff the nails to that intense chrome finish. But if you aren’t feeling as fancy, you can get a similar look with nail wraps.

Also little tip for those of you who are into gel polish, this is everything when it comes to needing a good remover:  Vikas 6-piece gel nail remover.

These are a couple of my favorite chrome/hologram daring looks.

Look how cool and different these designs are!!  If you are really feeling it, I would say go ahead and try Macs Pro longwear paint pot for some matching liner.

If you want to still do it from home, you can try to recreate this look with Chanel Holographic Nail Polish or Juleps Holographic Nail polish.

My Valentines Day Tablescape

dsc00347

Hi Dolls!   As many of you already know one of my favorite things in the world to do is decorate! If I could be a full time interior decorator I would, but between running my fashion and beauty lines right now it is just something I don’t have time for …so doing these fun little projects in my spare time for our own home will have to do for now. This tablescape for Valentines Day has been one of my favorite ones yet.

img_5215

We renovated our home just recently and with that came all new furniture (yeppie)  My gorgeous table is from http://www.zgallerie.com …. its called the archer collection and we choose the bench, two side chairs and the banquette bench. I  love how this unique combination of seating just feels so fresh and new aside from your typical all chairs around the table.  What I also love about this table is that is it a neutral color so you can change the color palette for any holiday and it will work.

Here is how I went about decided how to create my tablescape. I pulled a few items I had laying around my house, for instance I had reminants of the black and white ribbon from Christmas (I wrapped gifts with it) and the blinged out face masks from Halloween. These items helped set my mood board for what I wanted to do for the look. I realized I wanted my table to be a little sexy, as well as fun, flirty and full of color.  Here was some of the pieces I pulled together to create my vision. img_5219

These fun little confetti hearts I just found at the grocery store in the Valentines section, but you could find something like this at Michaels craft store as well.  I had bought a boutique of gorgeous red flowers and some baby’s breath  and this is how my color palette came together. I decided to use the flowers not only for the middle of the table but also as decorations for each place setting, and then tied the black and white ribbon around each black napkin to add layers and texture to my tablescape.  I stuck the baby’s breath in the ribbon and added one rose to each napkin and it looked perfect.

I then addded a blinded out face mask to each setting as the party favor for my guests, which created fun conversation as well as a great parting gift.

The black and white ribbon and the sparkly gold branch behind the plate I got from  http://www.shinodadesigncenter.net over the holidays. Shinoda is one of my favorite go to design centers for all things fabulous. Seriously it is a designers dream and its like going into the biggest candy store in the world for anyone who loves to decorate. It has everything you could ever imagine available there. You do have to have a seller’s permit (thank goodness for my business Gretchen Christine) to purchase there, but it is well worth it because of the selection and wholesale price point.

The chargers I got from  Pier 1  and I have them in tons of different colors, silver, black, red, gold etc. so that I can use them for every time I change up my tablescape. I also found my  beautiful red plates a Pier 1 about a year ago but here are similar ones that would work great for your table.

My intricate wine glasses I actually found at TJ Maxx Home Goods (have I mentioned that is one of my favorite stores on the planet for home goods ) you can find so much without breaking the bank. The glasses are a mixture of both gold and silver, which I love for decorating because they go with almost everything I set my table with. I love it when I find great items at half the price of a department or brand name store. My motto has always been you don’t need to spend a fortune to make things look nice, and quite honestly it’s just smart to purchase things at half of the price if they look just as good. And besides that leaves more money in the bank to go more shoe shopping…lol. dsc00413

The black and white customized  G and S pillows were the perfect touch to my table and helped pull it all together.  As mentioned above part of my inspiration was the black and white ribbon I had left over from Christmas but by itself it just seemed a little random on my table, so when I pulled these black and white pillows into the mix it made the whole look come together. I got these gorgeous embroidered pillows from http://www.bombardierdesigns.com.au/ and I have just fallen in love with all of their products. Mention my name “Gretchen” when you email them to place an order and they will give you a discount! 🙌🏻 I also go this gorgeous candle below that was in the middle of the table from them as well. So shop your hearts out.

Well I hope you guys enjoyed this very personal look into my home and how I created this gorgeous tablescape for one of my favorite times of year….Love Day!  I hope that my decorating styles  help inspire you to create something beautiful in your home as well.  I love sharing my tips and tricks with you guys and I love getting your feedback, so be sure to leave me a comment on what you think about it all.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day full of love and happiness. Remember whether you are in love or not the most important thing is that you first love yourself …..and then all the other things will fall into place.

50 Shades of Pink and Red

unnamed-10

Thanks to everyone who posted such sweet comments on my social media pages about my look for our Girls Valentines Day at Dior in Beverly Hills.  My Dress is by an Australian Company called C/MEO Collective and unfortunately is sold out from what I can see, however  check out the other red options from this company right here…. or  click here for a version of my dress. Also here are some other great red options as well from Neiman Marcus

My shoes are by the one and only Alexander McQueen but I got them a few years back.  I love them because they are a classic shoe that I pull out every once in a while to really make an outfit pop.  The skull heads on the front of them is not typically something I would wear, but they are so much fun and so different then what I usually do, so its fun every once it a while to change it up. I kept my earrings simple and just did some gold drop earrings by  Chanel  to help pull the gold embellishments in from my shoes.

Here are some more fun pics from my Girls Day at Dior. Just love all these fabulous ladies.

Thank you to Dior of Beverly Hills for having into our beautiful boutique up in Beverly Hills and making our day so special. unnamed-6

Also to Sunset Plaza Florist for the gorgeous flowers

My Hair was done by the one and only Victor Paul from the Victor Paul Salon and because I wanted my hair back due to the big side flare on my dress we decided to go with this super cool poofy braid look. I just love this unique fun look by VP.  Give him a call for all your hair needs and styles http://www.victorpaulsalon.co

On my lips I have one of my favorite new shades from Dior click here to shop the color unnamed-16

And of course to my beautiful girlfriend Jackie (pictured) and Jen for putting together such a fabulous day for us ladies…it was so special and just perfect. Jackie got her dress from Neiman Marcus so check out all the great looks you can find there for Valentines Day as well.

Great V-Day Gift Ideas

vday-blog-post

Hi dolls! I absolutely love putting together gift guides. They’re so fun and remind me of how many amazing things are out there and ready to be gifted! Valentine’s Day is less than a week away so I came up with a few gift ideas for your girlfriend, mother, wife sister, or any other special lady in your life. Be sure to share this post with your special someone so they know where to find these great items. Enjoy! – G

I always love a bold lip and what better time for a little  Dior Couture Color Rogue Lipstick for that sexy red pop! You will most definitely be getting that kiss 😉 If you are going for more of a natural blush and lip color Benefit Benetint Cheek & Lip Stain is my go to. Speaking of lips has anyone tried Sugarfina Hey Hot Lips Gummies they are so yummy and make a super cute gift.  Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Collection is one of my favorite perfumes and what is better than getting the whole collection from someone you love?! (check out how cute the packaging is too for V-Day)

I kind of have an obsession with fabulous phone cases so the  Kate Spade New York Scattered Hearts iphone Case is no exception! It’s covered in little red hearts, some of which are bedazzled-my favorite! Since we are talking about hearts and Valentine’s day is all about those, the Saint Laurent Small Kate-Heart Calfskin Leather Wallet on a chain is beyond perfect for anyone looking for a hip statement piece. The Valentino Love Blade Embroidered Calfskin Leather Shoulder Bag is another to die for bag with some of the most adorable embellishments if you are looking to splurge 🙂

Dresses are always my go to for a night out and the  Alice & Olivia Belva Dress with belt is a style that I have been dying to try. If you are doing something a little more casual for love day the Alexander Mcqueen Skull Print Silk Scarf in Lilac/Red is a perfect accessory. Lastly, the Classic II Boot-UGG Australia slippers are a gift that everyone deserves and are perfect to start any day and end any night.

Or check out adorable pillow  below from http://www.shopgretchenchristine.com to show your love one exactly how you feel about them.

Perfect Faux Fur Jacket

unnamed-7I’m gifting this gorgeous hat to one of you! All you have to do is subscribe to my blog, follow me on Instagram and tag two friends. I will pick the winner by 2/10.

I got my coat from Zara …..but you can find almost an exact replica of it here on sale now for only $99.  This Coat is one of my favorite coats for winter! I wore it a few days while in Park City because it is so versatile, and all I had to do was change the scarf and pant color (and of course my lip color…LOL) and I had a completely new look. I love the Nordstrom version of this coat, because the faux fur is removable and it becomes a totally different coat.

unnamed-6I also loved that I could add this hat from Bebe and change up the look as well…(click here to find this hat). My leopard scarf I got from Express  a few years ago but check out this similar one here for only $12 dollars

unnamed-4

These waterproof boots from Target (on sale for only $33 dollars) have become one of my favorite go to pair of boots. They are soo comfortable, they look great and are an a great price! I wore them with little sock toppers to create a fun look. unnamed-3

I found these super cute beige pants at Express at a great price and they matched perfectly with my hat and the faux fur on the trim of my coat.

unnamed-5

My Lipstick color in this pic is Mac  in the color Barbeque, and my black Sunnies are by Celine (check out my last blog for details on where to find them)unnamed-8

With my love at the Montage in Deer Valley.unnamed-9

It was another perfect beautiful Day in Park City Utah and it was wonderful spending the day in Deer Valley at the gorgeous grounds of the Montage Resort! I mean look at those amazing views of the entire valley.

Red Hot in The Snow

img_4172

Park City Utah for Sundance is one of my favorite places to go every year! The white winter land is a great backdrop for some eye popping looks…such as the fun look.

img_3952

It was about 19 degrees here, so it was cold! But I had this gorgeous new parka on I got from Zara (you can find a similar one here too ) It is lined with a soft interior fabric and thick enough for cold weather like this. I paired it with a turtleneck from Wolford  (you can find a similar cheaper one here) My Boots were from Coach quite a few years back but they are classics and I use them year after year, however these boots would look great with this outfit as well here…. and of course I am carrying one of my Gretchen Christine handbags.  My Belt is from Hermes and my jeans are from Zara (a year ago) so you can find a similar pair here or here.

img_3950

The Jacket has this amazing warm faux fur trimmed hood that helped keep me warm as well.  I love to add a pop of color to my look, so I thought red scarf would be the perfect accent.  Check out this other great red scarf you can double as a shawl.  Of course no outfit is complete without some sunnies and these are by Celine and I got them from Optx Eyewear.  They will help you find any pair you are searching for….Just ask!

On my lips I am wearing one of my favorite reds from Dior

img_3956

Now don’t forget to go out and have a little fun while you’re in the snow too!

Stay Glam Dolls!

Blushing in The Snow

img_3704img_3892img_3959

This was one of my favorite outfits from #Sundance. It was simple, yet chic and fun!

I found this sweater while shopping at a small local boutique called No Rest For Bridget (but I cannot find it anywhere on their site now) but you can find a similar one here.  My whole outfit was planned around this sweater. I decided to do blue jeans to make the look pop although white jeans would have looked great too. I found my jeans at Zara a few years back but you can find a similar pair here.

This adorable hat I got at BCBG and it’s on sale right now for only $24 dollars!

My gorgeous bag is from BCBG Generation and is on sale right now for only $34 dollars! What a steal! Be sure to pick up one for yourself before they are all gone.

My Faux Fur scarf I found at a boutique a while back but you can find similar pieces at Bloomingdales.  White gloves with Bling were from Bebe about a year ago, and the belt is from Hermes.  The Fab Boots are from Dior a few years back, and the split sunnies are also from Dior.

Happy Shopping Dolls! And Remember to always stay glam!
