Orange you something ūüėú

This weekend I went on a fun two day getaway to the wine county in Paso Robles and of course I had to have the perfect ensemble for my look.  I decided to base my outfit around the color orange because my main staple (my shorts) were orange! I got these shorts at Zara a year ago but you can find similar ones here http://rstyle.me/cz-n/btkfnwb48tf

I planned the rest of my outfit around this great pop of color for summer. My top is also from Zara but I couldn’t find it on their website so you can find a similar top at Bebe here http://rstyle.me/cz-n/btkfdvb48tf

I loved the sexy romantic feel of this top perfect for the wine country.  I layered it with a gorgeous necklace from Kendra Scott and my watch and handbag is from Micheal Kors

I love finding things in my closet that help bring an outfit together and this orange and white scarf was the perfect accessory to add to my purse. I got the scarf from Nordstroms a few years back and it’s Kate Spade.

My Sunnies are Tom Ford and I got them from @optxeyewear on Instagram (my new favorite pair because they go with everything)

I finished off my look with the persevere pair of comfy yet fashionable lace up sandals by BCBC and I got them for a great price at Nordstrom Rack

The weather was hot so this was the perfect outfit to keep me cool but also looking cute for my day of exploring and wine tasting.

Here are some other pics from the day. Happy shopping!

With my love

We stopped at his son Gavin’s place on the way home to have dinner

All Black with a little Bling

DSC00177Normally I don’t do all black but I was¬†wanting¬†to go with a simple and timeless look for the my Holiday Party. ¬†I had found this AMAZING skirt from¬†Nordstroms¬†that I was just obsessed with! So my whole outfit was designed around this fabulous skirt.

First I decided to add a simple black bodysuit because I wanted something sleek and not too overwhelming for the top because the focus was going to be the skirt and the fabulous bow.DSC00088

Next I added a Chanel Brooch to my assemble for a little extra flare and I decided to put it right in the middle of the bow which added a perfect touch of bling  which also helped break up the solid black.

I added one of my favorite pairs of Valentino’s Shoes¬†to complete my look, which helped bring class as well as pulled in the bling from the Chanel brooch. ¬†I keep my accessories simple and only wore some simple black and diamond studs, no other pieces were necessary with this look.DSC00098

One of my favorite things to do when planning an outfit/ look is to decide what kind of hairstyle and makeup look will really compliment the style.

I really wanted a fabulous yet fun hairstyle to make this look feel fresh, and timeless.  So I decided on a braided hairstyle and my hairstylist Victor Paul and I had a great time with this concept.  We added my extra long halo of hair so my braid could be long down the front and he braided the front of my hair, then he took that braid and twisted it into a flower like bun on the side of my headDSC00108

Then we tied a rubber band around the remaining hair and pulled it all to one side and then fishtailed that portion of the hair in order to make a a long fabulous braided style. This is honestly one of my most favorite hairstyles I have ever done.DSC00064

This look allowed my face to show more, and so I opted for more of a natural look on my eyes, only doing eyeliner on the top and no liner on the bottom on my eyes. Using extra flirty lashes from my http://www.shopgretchenchristine.com line called Doll Me Up Lashes.  These are just fabulous lashes that give you that doll like effect.DSC00084I used a mixture of my Gretchen Christine lip liner in the color Rose all over my lip with my  Dior Red Lip Stick on top. As you know when you do a strong lip it is better to keep the eyes more simple.

I felt I accomplished the exact look I was going for and it was a fabulous night with my friends celebrating the Holiday. Here are some more angels and pics of the look

Hope you enjoyed your Holidays as well.  Show me your fabulous fashion and beauty looks on instagram and tag #GetGlamwithGretchen for a chance to be re-grammed.

Home Tour of my Holiday Decor

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I am always getting asked about my Holiday decor and to post pics of my home. So I decided to do a blog about how I like to decorate for the holidays.  I actually have an entire storage unit for all my holiday decorations starting with Halloween, but this blog is all about Christmas.

DSC09121Of course you always want to make a good first impression when someone walks up to your home, so I always decorate my front porch with lighted garland and Christmas Bells and my front door with a beautiful wreath.  My color scheme for my entire house is Gold and Red.  The wreath I made with elements from Michaels.

Right as you walk into my house you see my staircase and so I always want to deck that out as well. This year I opted for elements from¬†Shinoda Design Center¬† which is one of my favorite stores for amazing beautiful decor. It’s one of my go too secrets for fabulous designs, ribbon, candle holders, etc. ¬†DSC09171

This year I choose a gorgeous red thick mesh like material to wrap all around my garland on my staircase. I wrap the staircase with the garland first and then the lights, and then I start to wrap and mold the mesh all around the garland. I went with a gorgeous and very sparkly gold net-like overlay on top of the red mesh to add dimension and flare. Then to finish it off I found huge red and gold ornaments from Home Depot to put in-between all the garland and then put smaller ornaments  all around the bigger ones.  I had some other  garnish from my Christmas tree box that I stuffed into the garland to add some extra bling and delight to the arrangement. What do you guys think of this new look for my staircase? Personally I am in love with the new style I did this year.

You have to really mold and push up the red mesh in order to create a bubble like effect and lightly lay over the gold garnish on top. I twisted it through each opening of the stairway so it stays all connected.

One of my favorite parts of the house is my Christmas Tree…..IMG_1334 (1)

It just makes me happy and smile every time I walk down the stairs into my living room. It is just the right size, and this year I added the decsending bows on the front that say Merry Christmas and the big red net like ribbonl on the sides of the tree. I even made a big bow at the top myself out of the same materials I purchased. All those ribbons are from¬†Shinoda¬†Design Center. ¬†I then put all the different Red and Gold ornaments and poinsettia’s I got from Michaels to make the tree sparkle. I then sprinkle some blinged out gifts and boxes below the tree before all the real presents arrive from Santa.

Of course I have the stocking hung above the fireplace and this year I got and S and G initial stockings from¬†Target¬†…..Now with my cup of hot coco and a warm blanket I cuddle up next to the fireplace and am in my Happy Place.

Last but not least I love to have a fun and festive table, so naturally I decked it out with pieces from my new Home Accents line Sparkles that is now available on my site www.shopgretchenchristine.comDSC09953

This year we went to our friend’s painting party and Slade made this beautiful wreath picture…..so I have this hung on our walls. ¬†It’s a beautiful personalized touch in our home.IMG_1202

Well that is it for a quick home tour of what I do for the Holidays to make our home festive. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas from our house to yours!

In the Holiday Spirit

Happy Holidays Everyone! In order to get into the holiday spirit I decided to find some cute Holiday fashion.  So of course for some fun looks without breaking the bank I went to H&M for this super festive sparkly bow top, and to Target for this great Red floppy hat!  My puffy black skirt is from a few years back  (and not available anymore) but you can find one similar here from Chicwish, and the leather jacket on top of the ensemble makes it all come together.   Of course I am rocking my Gretchen Christine handbag and my Olivia Hines strappy lace ups.

Hair by the fabulous Victor Paul at Victor Paul salon in Costa Mesa. He books up quick so give him a call for the perfect holiday color and style¬†(714) 966-1188. ¬†I have my “halo” in my hair for extra long length, so be sure to ask him about making a custom piece¬†to match you haircolor.

Happy Holidays!

Love it to Peaches

IMG_9975IMG_9976 IMG_9979IMG_9981  IMG_9982 IMG_9983

Loving the peaches I did with my makeup yesterday, it complimented my dress from BCBG so well.

Here is a breakdown of the products I used and links to easily find:

Nars sheer glow foundation  in the color Figi for under my eyes and Barcelona for all over the face.

Tom Ford foundation stick ¬†in color toffee to contour, then used Mac “Give me Sun” mineralize skin finish ¬†all over the foundation contour once blended out to set it.

Nars Torrid Blush on the cheeks

Gretchen Christine Eye Color palette in Golden Girl on the lids and the darker brown color in the palette for the liner below the eyes mixed with Brown Script eye shadow from Mac and Raven Gel Eyeliner from Gretchen Christine

Lilly Lashes in Cannes were used with individuals (coming soon to Gretchen Christine) on top.

Lastly on my lips I used a new favorite color from Gerard Cosmetics and a lip gloss on top from Mac with Makeup forever lip liner in color nude beige

My dress in these pictures is from BCBG but was a couple seasons back, however check out what they have now, their stuff is amazing and its one of my favorite stores to shop in. Hope this helps inspire you to create a gorgeous palette of peaches on your beautiful faces as well! Happy Shopping

These boots were made for walking

New boots from Akirachicago.com

Beautiful fringe booties from Akira

image

imageimageimageimageimageimage

I’m loving these new fringe booties in this camel color from Akira that¬†goes with so many colors for fall! (type “lovegretchen15” for 15% off your order) I love neutral color palettes ¬†and that’s why I had to have these shoes for fall. As we know fringe is all the rage right now, but since it’s still summer weather in Cali, I paired it with some crisp white shirts from Bebe¬†(a few years back) and a Blush colored Blouse from¬†Akira.

I accesorized it with a vintage faux fur Micheal Kors bag and my Rayban sunglasses to finish off the look.

Hair was put into simple spiral curls with a one inch curling iron, and lipstick is from my shopgretchenchristinecollection in the color Titillate.  Happy Fall and Happy Shopping!
